Ramzee Robinson, the last player selected in the N-F-L draft, has agreed to a three-year deal with the Detroit Lions. Robinson agreed in principle to the deal yesterday, according to his agent. The 5-foot-10, 186-pound cornerback from Alabama became the 23rd player to be recognized as Mister Irrelevant, a moniker given to the final player selected in the N-F-L draft. Robinson was chosen in the seventh round in April with the 255th selection, the last of Detroit's eight picks. Robinson, who is 23, started 36 of 50 games he played in with the Crimson Tide. Critics cite his small size and lack of N-F-L speed. But his ability to play cornerback, nickel back and on special teams, coupled with his work ethic, could give him a shot at the practice squad if not the active roster. Robinson is expected to sign the contract early next week.
