home the winning run for South Alabama in the Jaguars' 10-9 win
over Alabama in 10 innings Wednesday night.
The Jaguars (24-18) took a 7-2 lead with a five-run third
inning, with Ryan Bohannon's two-run homer the big blow. Alabama
(23-20) rallied and took an 8-7 lead in the sixth on Ross Wilson's
second homer of the game.
South Alabama regained the lead on a bases-loaded infield out
and an error and led 9-8 until Alex Avila hit a game-tying homer in
the ninth for the Crimson Tide.
Toomey's game-winner came off losing pitcher Josh Copeland
(2-2). Greg Johnson (2-1) got the win in relief.
