The Arizona Diamondbacks have promoted former #1 overall draft pick Justin Upton to the Mobile BayBears. Upton started this season at High-A Visalia, hitting .341 in 32 games, with five home runs and 17 RBI's. Upton was the first overall pick in the 2005 Major League Baseball Amateur draft. Baseball America named Upton the best prospect in the Arizona Diamondbacks system, and ninth best prospect in all of Minor League Baseball. Upton is expected to start in the BayBears game Monday vs. the Jacksonville Suns. To make room for Upton on the roster, outfielder Jon Zeringue was released Sunday. Zeringue hit .143 with the BayBears in 24 games this season.
