Carlos Gonzalez hit a two-run single in the top of the 10th inning Tuesday, as the BayBears beat Huntsville 5-3. The BayBears have now won the first two games in Huntsville, after losing four of five games in the road trip-opening series in West Tenn. The BayBears are now 15-17, while Huntsville drops to 14-16. Esmerling Vasquez started for Mobile, throwing seven innings, allowing three earned runs. Abe Woody (2-1) was the winning pitcher for Mobile, throwing a scoreless eighth and ninth. Matt Elliott pitched a scoreless bottom of the tenth inning for the BayBears for his second save. Offensively, Gonzalez was 1-for-5 with two RBI's, while Mark Reynolds was on base five times with three hits and two walks. Javier Brito entered the game in the Southern League's top five in batting average, and was 2-for-5 with an RBI. The BayBears and Stars play Wednesday at 12:05 PM. Jonathan Castellanos (3-3) starts for Mobile against Adam Pettyjohn (2-1).
