Jim Wells has apparently had a change of heart - he's returning to the Capstone as head baseball coach. Alabama Athletics Director Mal Moore, in a statement today, said he has accepted Wells' request to return to the school. The 52-year-old Wells announced his retirement from coaching almost a week ago today. Wells is the winningest baseball coach in Alabama history with a 553-and-272 record. His teams made ten N-C-double-A Tournament appearances and three trips to the College World Series. Wells was two-time S-E-C Coach of the Year and his teams won six S-E-C Tournament titles. The university said Wells will be available to the media at an afternoon news conference at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
