Briarwood Christian blocked a St. Paul's punt in the closing seconds of the 5A championship game at Legion Field in Birmingham, and ran it in for a touchdown. But St. Paul's came up with a block of their own, the extra point attempt. The big play gave the Saints a 14-13 victory and 5A state title.
Daniel Martin and Ivan Matchett scored touchdown for the Saints who led 14-0 at the half. The Saints started the season ranked number one and finish the 2007 season number one.
