News 5 has learned former Alabama football star Keith McCants' arrest was part of a drug and prostitution sting. Prichard police tasered McCants Friday night after they say he threw a screwdriver, a pair of pliers and a crack pipe at an officer.
Operation Clean Sweep was conducted after police received numerous complaints from residents about prostitution and drugs in their neighborhood. Undercover officers posed as prostitutes and johns, focusing on gas stations on Highway 45 (between Pricahrd Ave. and Lott Rd.), Telegraph Road (between Meaher St. and Haig St.) and Chastang Avenue at Owens Street.
Police made 10 arrests between 5:00 p.m. Friday night and 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Below is a list of the people arrested and the crimes police charged them with.

Jana Hamblin
41-years-old
Loitering, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Obstruction of Justice using False Name, Probation Violation Warrant, Possession of Cocaine Warrant. Subject has been identified as an area prostitute

Shawanda Montgomery
30-years-old
Loitering, Drug Paraphernalia. Subject has been identified as an area prostitute

Vivian Williams
49-years-old
Prostitution, subject has been arrested in two prior undercover operations

Polly Dixon
47-years-old
Loitering, Subject has been identified as an area prostitute.

Diana Dees
33-years-old
Loitering, Subject has been identified as an area prostitute.

Keith McCants
39-years-old
Loitering, Resisting Arrest, Drug Paraphernalia.

Horace Rodgers
34-years-old
Soliciting Prostitution.

Cedric Taylor
32-years-old
Soliciting Prostitution.

Carlton Todd
19-years-old
Possession of Crack Cocaine, No Pistol Permit.

Demarcus Todd
21-years-old
Possession of Crack Cocaine, No Pistol Permit.
