LUCEDALE, Miss. (AP) - Prosecutors say they have turned over
investigation files on the death of star Mississippi high school
football player Billey Joe Johnson Jr. to the U.S. attorney's
office.
Prosecutors in George County says the files were given to
federal authorities this week at the request of Johnson's family.
Calls left by The Associated Press on Friday with the U.S.
attorney's office and the FBI in Jackson were not immediately
returned. Both offices rarely comment on pending investigations, if
any.
Johnson's family on Thursday said they will ask state and
federal officials to investigate the 17-year-old's death.
A grand jury earlier this month concluded that Johnson
accidentally shot and killed himself with his own shotgun during a
traffic stop on Dec. 8.

Everyone who thinks the cop shot this kid needs to stand outside a truck reach in with your left hand and grab a loaded shotgun by the barrel, drag it out while looking back behind the truck, to see if anyone can see you. You will have the answers your looking for. A gunshot wound, left to right at an upward angle behind the left ear. Just like the report states. I can understand family and friends not being able to find answers to this young man death even if a dash camera had been in the car, because denial is part of the grieving process. Anyone that is not family or friends that want to say anything without the facts or looking at the forensic evidence is an idiot, racist or both. I have read the report have you? After reading this you still can’t see it. I feel for you. You will always be a victim and bound by your race.

Sirk that may be very true..I personally can’t fathom why he would even have bothered with his own shotgun during a simple traffic stop. However, even if they do arrest someone it will not bring this young man back…The first part of losing your child is the blamming game. I know been there done that! I hope this family finds all of the answers they are looking for..Sometimes we go a lifetime without knowing the real reason why those have gone before us.  And I feel like they will never know the TRUTH in detail about this particular story! The only person who knows for certain is the officer that made the stop, the kid and god! My heart is with this family as I can understand there anger in wanting more out of this.

Even if they go as far up the ladder as they can go with this investigation and still they say it was all an accident and the first report was right, the family will then say they don’t know what they are saying and its all just a cover. I don’t think they will ever be satisfied with what anyone says happened until a person of another color is sent to jail for it.
