FLOMATON, Ala. (AP) - Investigators say a Flomaton High School's
football star faces sex charges for an incident involving a 12-year-old girl.
Officers detained 18-year-old Tony Ellis shortly after school
Tuesday.
Escambia County Sheriff Grover Smith said Ellis was charged with
enticing a minor for immoral purposes, sodomy and sexual abuse.
He was released from custody on $150,000 bond.
Ellis, a star running back, was indicted by a grand jury last
week.
Flomaton head football coach Doug Vickery declined to comment
Tuesday. Messages left for Smith and Vickery were not immediately
returned Wednesday.

absolutely… i do think w/ “the cop” incident i couldn’t blame the grieving parents for further pursuing the investigation, we all know cover-ups do happen unfortunately in the justice system…having kids myself, i know even if it were a black officer in the same situation, it’s hard to accept that your child died like that and would be more willing to think something else happened that’s not being said… but, it is true that they give athletes, judges, politicians, movie stars AND all people in prominent positions too much benefit of the doubt when they commit a crime. MONEY TALKS!

I agree with presumed innocent until proven guilty but the problem with so many cases here lately are totally different.
Just because someone has a “promising ” football future doesn’t mean they become resistant from doing something wrong worthy of losing their career.  Look at O. J. Simpson , Michael Vick or Terrell Owens.  Then think back to the F.B. player with a bright future in MS. that shot himself accidentally and then there’s “The Cop”. The difference there is with his family and the N.A.A.C.P. involvement supplying the driving force behind their movement which is the white person is guilty until proven innocent. Then they continue to appeal it.  This boy will probably have very little in repercussions from this (guilty or not) depending on who the girl is and how close their community is.
It seems to me that it’s becoming less about justice and more about having that driving force and a promising future.

This is why you have to tell your sons the law and that dating/sleeping with a girl under 16 after they turn 18 is OFF LIMITS…my 14 yr old son has a myspace and the most of the girls his age on there are talking dirty and sending him sex quizzes while posing like they’re future porn stars…BUT, if he knew how old she was and messed with her anyway, he deserves what he gets-he knew better!

Thank you .... Any girl can cry rape or be pressured to take charge because of what the parents has forced her to do ! I think they are treating him wrong. The need to think about the whole situation. Tony Ellis has a lot going for him and is a great football player. This all needs to be washed under the bridge bc its no right to charge a innocent person for something they didnt do just because it may look like it.

Don’t get me wrong innocent until proven guilty.

I think this sounds like a 7th grade girl infatuated with an older football player and then her parents got involved (or he broke up with her) and she cried rape..

I would have to agree but in this case… I know the boy personally and he didnt do anything. This all has been twisted around. Tony is a great guy.  NO he doesnt deserve this.

18 Years old,he deserves nothing less than to spend the rest of his life in prison with “BIG BUBBA"as his cellmate.
