But the coach dubbed "The Genius" can't seem to beat the Auburn Tigers. For the 2nd season in a row, Auburn defeats the Gators, 20-17. Freshman kicker Wes Byrum kicked not one game winning field goal, but two as Meyer called time out just before Byrum was set to kick. The loss gives the Tigers a re-newed life for the season after a dissmal 1 and 2 start. Brandon Cox finally showed the poise of a senior throwing 17 of 26 for 227 yards and his receivers didn't drop any of his passes. The Gators got a solid 1-2 dose of Ben Tate and Mario Fannin who combined for 137 yards and 33 carries. And the defense held Tim Tebow and the Florida offense to only 312 yards of total offense, 200 yards off their normal output.
