Bayou La Batre, Alabama - Some storm-hardened residents of Bayou La Batre who had lived through Hurricane Katrina rolled their eyes at the mention of Tropical Storm Ida.
Rick McLendon, the owner of the Bayou Shirt Co., says he and other residents refuse to scramble. He said "we're not panicking. After you go through Katrina, it's got to be a big storm to panic. And this isn't."
Life in the south Alabama town was far from normal, though. The town's bank and school had closed early, and McLendon said business was down.
