Warwick, Rhode Island - A doctor says the death of actor James Woods' brother could have been prevented if he had been given proper care at a Rhode Island hospital.
Michael Woods suffered a heart attack at Kent Hospital on July 26, 2006, after he arrived at the emergency room complaining of a sore throat and vomiting. He was 49.
James Woods, the administrator of his brother's estate, has sued on behalf of his teenage nephew Peyton, Michael's son.
Jeffrey Garrett, a Pittsburgh cardiologist, testified Wednesday that Michael Woods should have been given aspirin and beta blockers after an electrocardiogram revealed an abnormal heartbeat.
Testimony is continuing Monday in Kent County Superior Court.
