I was prepared to peddle my way to work but breaking news got in the way.
I've been the lead reporter on the Air Force tanker story for years and I knew this day was going to be busy.
If there was a moment of weakness in this "don't buy gas in July" experiment, it would be Wednesday morning.
I picked up the phone and called a Yellow Cab.
While I was waiting, a manager from work called and said I needed to speed it up and be ready to roll.
When the cab arrived, driver Lee Gulley recognized Arnell and I from the Putting It In Park series.
He said he wants to learn anything he can about saving money on transportation.
This day didn't offer many lessons **except** the fact that shortcuts will cost you!
After talking to Lee, I felt guilty for taking a taxi less than ten miles.
I'm sure you are probably wondering how much it cost to cab it, right?
25 DOLLARS and some change.
Don't give up on me yet.
We still have more than 2 weeks to go and I have a great idea for Thursday.
We'll ride along with someone who spends less than a dollar a gallon!

Will We Dip Below $2.00?

There’s a bus system in Baldwin County? I know there’s a MOBILE bus that runs over there a couple times day…but could you get from Daphne to Fairhope, then maybe Fairhope to Gulf Shores?
