News 5's Tiffany Craig is not buying gas this month and finding other ways to get around town.
She discovered the Wave bus yesterday after walking nearly two miles.
What a difference a day makes!
After our Monday hustle, I discovered the Neighborhood Service Bus
The mini Wave bus will pick you up at home and take you right to the fixed route bus.
I made a reservation Monday afternoon and on Tuesday morning, it worked like magic.
The fee is $1.25 plus a dime for switching buses.
News 5's Kimberly Curth tested it out with me. "I've always been curious and it's so nice to know that option is there to see how convenient it really is."
On our half hour journey, we met Jerald Milligan. He watched Monday's episode of Putting It In Park. "I said, I don't think they gonna make it. I don't think they're gonna make it but they basically waited on you didn't they?"
After dropping his car off at the shop Tuesday morning, Jerald decided to step on a bus for the first time in thirty years. "They've been very helpful and directed me on how to get closest to my house."
The neighborhood bus travels through West Mobile and Tillman's Corner. As long as you make reservations, you can catch the mini Wave to the big Wave too!
