You can leave messages on the Putting It In Park section of the website or send them directly to me.
Tuesday's idea comes from a viewer suggestion.
Day 13 of Putting It In Park, we're telecommuting.
Simply put, telecommuting is working away from the office. For us, it means setting up a mini Channel 5 in my home.
Photojournalist Arnell Hamilton brings the live truck and a laptop editor. The live truck will send back a microwave signal to WKRG. That truck will allow us to feed video back for broadcast.
The big van and giant antenna are making my neighbors wonder what's going on!
After setting up our West Mobile newsroom, we walk to a nearby gas station to talk about telecommuting.
Cliff Aucoin is a bus driver and can only wish to stay at home. "I guess that’s probably not something you could do. No, I couldn’t it would be nice though."
Paula Rininger is a pet groomer and believes it could be a possibility for her. "I'd like to do it and could maybe with the right resources."
Telecommuting can work for some people but it seemed like more hassle than it's worth for us.
Day 13 is done.
