BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A United Nations report says Alabama'sdeath penalty system is so flawed that the state may have executed
an innocent person, but the state's top prosecutor dismisses the
criticism.
A report by special investigator Philip Alston at the U.N.'s
Human Rights Council describes flaws in Alabama's system, alleging
that judges convert life sentences to death sentences for purely
political reasons and condemned inmates have inadequate legal
representation.
Alabama Attorney General Troy King accuses the U.N. of pushing
an ideological agenda. King says he doesn't believe judges impose
the death penalty for political reasons.

Fartman, you have no idea do you? You think that the UN is saying this for their own political agenda? That may be true. But the fact remains that Alabama is the ONLY state in America to no allow convicts on Death Row legal representation after convictions. Most think they dont deserve it. But what if that person is innocent? What if it were you, fartman, innocent of a crime and sittin on death row? Wouldnt u like a chance to have competent lawyers represent you so that death sentence doesnt become murder? Just ask Tommy Arthur.
