Alabama lawmakers sent a letter to Defense Secretary Robert Gates urging him to make sure the new contest for the $40 billion refueling tanker contract does not focus on anything expect the Government Accountability Office’s recommendations

“This tanker competition has been delayed time and again at the expense of the war fighter and the taxpayer,” said Senator Richard Shelby. “As stated in our letter, I hope that Secretary Gates will continue to conduct an objective competition that truly focuses on the best interests of our service members.”

And what’s also disturbing is that they’re showing what they think of the people in this area of the country but I see we are rising a bit in statue, I see in some postings we’ve risen to the status of “ also citizens of Alabama”. We seem to be back in the union again for a while.

come on cmb1 you know they only except cash. LOL

To think Boeing is 100% to blame for the delays of getting this new tanker under construction.

First they paid off the wrong people and they went to jail.  Then they lost and protested and now they are rebidding and will lose again and then protest even more or one of their porkers will cut the funding.  They are really showing how much they care about the Men and Women of the Air Force.

Or maybe if we sent a check with it! lol

I’m sure Gates will get right on that as soon as he clears it with Tiahrt, Dicks and Boeing.
