Alabama lawmakers sent a letter to Defense Secretary Robert Gates urging him to make sure the new contest for the $40 billion refueling tanker contract does not focus on anything expect the Government Accountability Office’s recommendations“This tanker competition has been delayed time and again at the expense of the war fighter and the taxpayer,” said Senator Richard Shelby. “As stated in our letter, I hope that Secretary Gates will continue to conduct an objective competition that truly focuses on the best interests of our service members.”

And what’s also disturbing is that they’re showing what they think of the people in this area of the country but I see we are rising a bit in statue, I see in some postings we’ve risen to the status of “ also citizens of Alabama”. We seem to be back in the union again for a while.
