MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Gov. Bob Riley has ordered that flags beflown at half-staff on state government buildings Thursday in honor
of those who were killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Thursday is the seventh anniversary of the attacks on the World
Trade Center twin towers in New York City and the Pentagon in
northern Virginia.
The governor is encouraging local governments and schools to
also fly flags at half-staff on Thursday.
The governor says flags will return to flying at full-staff
Friday.
