ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) - John McCain is vowing to "whip" BarackObama's "you-know-what," as he puts it, when the two hold their
final presidential debate Wednesday night.
McCain's top advisers say he's weighing new economic proposals
to help the nation weather the global financial meltdown.
A number of polls show McCain trailing Obama amid the deepening
market crisis. McCain gave an impromptu pep talk to several dozen
volunteers Sunday at his campaign headquarters outside Washington,
and said, "We're a couple points down, OK, nationally, but we're
right in this game."
McCain acknowledges he's been hurt "a little bit in the last
week or two" by the economy but says his numbers are coming back
up because Americans, he says, want experience, knowledge and
vision.
Obama and McCain hold the last of their three debates Wednesday
at Hofstra University on New York's Long Island. CBS' Bob Schieffer
will moderate the 90-minute forum.
