We could know as soon as Wednesday if Mobile gets to keep its $40 billion tanker contract.
Northrop Grumman and EADS beat out Boeing to build air refueling tankers for the Air Force.
After Boeing lost, the company filed a formal protest.
The General Accountability Office is reviewing the bid to decide if it was fair.
The deadline for a decision is Thursday, but the GAO could announce one Wednesday.
Marc Pelham with the Mobile Airport Authority said he's confident Mobile will keep the contract.
Pelham said, "Even Boeing described the process as fair, transparent and very, very balanced and open. Northrop Grumman is the better aircraft. Nobody, even Boeing, will ever tell you that the 767 is a better aircraft."
Mobile Mayor Sam Jones is also confident.
He said, "I don't think any competition is perfect, but I don't think there will be anything that is so earthshaking that it requires the competition to be re-done or altered."

Cong.KAS Todd Tiahrt is obviously on Boeing’s payroll and has no idea what he is talking about and/or a complete idiot/liar/communist. I know for a fact that over 90% of the B-787 Dreamliner is built overseas(Italy,Japan,Canada,Germany,etc.) and being flown into Charleston S.C. and Everrete W.A. for final assembly. I should know because I’m building it. So whenever you here about Grumman/EADS sending work out of the country, (sacrifising American jobs, and national security), ask Boeing, they should know all about it because they specialize in it.
