TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Florida's Democrats are increasingtheir numbers at better than twice the rate of Republicans in a
state that could be a crucial battleground in the presidential
election.
The number of registered Democrats increased by almost 169,000
from the beginning of the year through the end of May, compared to
nearly 64,000 more Republicans. That's a difference of almost
105,000 more Democrats.
Overall, Florida now has 4.3 million Democrats, nearly 3.9
million Republicans and almost 2.3 million voters who don't belong
to either party.
