Republican Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, will be in Pensacola Tuesday afternoon where she will speak at the Pensacola Civic Center. And, for a Fairhope family, seeing Palin is more than just a rare opportunity.
Ken and Barbie Adams say they have a lot in common with the Vice Presidential candidate. The Adams claim to be distant relatives of the Palin family. Ken also has ties to Alaska, his mom is from there.
And, Barbie identifies with Palin because she too is the mother of a special needs child, "of course we have so much in common that I could really relate to her especially having a child with Down Syndrome," said Barbie Adams, "I think just by being on the ticket and being in the limelight she is bringing increased awareness to Down Syndrome to the nation and to the world."
For the Adams, Palin's visit to the Gulf Coast Tuesday is more than just witnessing history, it's a chance for their boys to learn more about their own.
