Or make them listen to our political speeches for about 8 hours a day! After a day or two they would be water boarding them selves to relieve the Agony. I believe there should be a reasonable time limit on the length of time anyone can be held without a trial,different lengths for different accused crimes.Years before a trial would be unacceptable to me.If you can’t make a case in a year or two for continued imprisonment then you don’t have much of a case or either you don’t know what you’re doing or both.If I had my way,some of these Gitmo prisoners would already be on the way to meet their maker and wouldn’t have to worry about further confinement.

they were not picked up for looking like a terrorist.  like the chinese at a afganastan terror training camp. they are not serving hard labor as american prisoners do (hopefully) they are catered to. now i am no fan of putin, but he is correct on this remark, after the school house takeover by terrorist.

I really think the reason some people wanted this shut down was because they thought these prisoners were getting more than they were cause they used the name Gitmo.  They thought someone was gettin mo for free.

Yeah, releasing people who have been held for months or even years without being charged with any crime is waaaay too liberal for me.  Maybe our courts should work more like those in communist China.

In June, the Supreme Court ruled in Boumediene v. Bush that Gitmo detainees are entitled to seek their freedom through federal habeas corpus cases.  This ruling has opened the door for more than 200 claims to include one that may soon release 17 Chinese Uighers captured in Afghan terrorist training camps.  The Uighers are a Muslim-Turk ethnic opposed to Chinese government control of their native region.

Last month, federal judge Ricardo Urbina demanded that the Bush administration produce the Uighers in his courtroom.  The judge said he intended to release them to the Washington, D.C. Uigher community.  Fortunately, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals issued an emergency injunction blocking their release.

now its not the bush adminstration relasing these animals back to kill more americans. its our liberal courts.

I’m sorry, but you are severely misinformed.  Most of the detainees come from Yemen, but others are from Azerbaijan, Algeria, Afghanistan, Chad, China, and Saudi Arabia.  We aren’t even involved in any active military engagements in most of these places.  Frankly, if you think that further restrictions on our way of life and further limitations on our freedoms is the best way to combat terrorism, then I have only this quote to leave you with:

first we did not imprison 3000 innocent people, if it had meant saving 3000 innocent american lives yes i would. now think about it. why were they there? i doubt they were just walking down the streets of afganistan, iraq, pakistan and got pulled over.  do you remember the middle eastern man that was released from a prison in florida right after bush was elected. he was never charged. i do not feel sorry for these detainees i do still think about the 3000 plus we lost on 9/11.
