Elizabeth Edwards: “I Do Love Him”

Breast Cancer Affair Edwards says if she had known her husband John was having an affair she would have strongly resisted his running for president again.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Elizabeth Edwards says if she had known her
husband John was having an affair with a woman rather than her
initial belief that he'd had just a single betrayal, she would have
strongly resisted his running for president again.
Edwards said "I do love him" and also said in a nationally
broadcast interview that's the reason she has remained with Edwards
despite his admitted affair with videographer Reille Hunter.
Edwards went on NBC's "Today" show Monday to discuss
"Resilience," the book she has written about her battle with
incurable breast cancer and her discovery last year that her
husband had been involved in an affair with Hunter.

Their story and their business? That might be true if they were not public figures. He was running for the highest office in the land and lying through his teeth. His campaign staff now says they planned to sabotage his candidacy, if he had gotten close to winning the nomination.

So, what about all the people that donated to the man and cast their votes for the jerk. Do they not count? Was his run for office just a whim designed to split the votes and put Obama in better standing during the primaries?

As for her, she has written a book and is making the rounds promoting the tell all, so it is no longer just her business either.

This is their story and their business. I think they had no choice but to air the dirty laundry. Mr. Edward’s behavior is a good example of human nature in the face of severe consequences. As Brooke Astor said of President Clinton, he should have chosen one of his wife’s friends. It’s less complicated!

Sell plenty of books Elizabeth and treat yourself!

The bigger story in this, imo, is that his campaign staff knew about the affair and had devised a “doomsday strategy” if it looked like he could win the nomination. Nothing about that sounds right. In fact, it sounds like some of the most underhanded politics during the 2008 election season.
