Legislature's budget committee filed against Gov. Bob Riley is now
before the Alabama Supreme Court.
The court is hearing arguments on the lawsuit Wednesday
afternoon. Members of the budget committee sued Riley after he used
a line-item veto to remove some language from the new state General
Fund budget. That language shielded several health and social
service programs from budget cuts if state tax collections fall
below appropriations.
The governor is asking the Supreme Court to rule that
legislators can't challenge his line-item veto because they haven't
been harmed by it.

I don’t consider myself a republican but I have to say if Riley could run again… I"D BE CAMPAIGNING for the man. I think he’s done this state a world of good. I thank him for my son’s education.. Thank you Gov Riley.
