One killed after being hit by pickup truck on I-65

MOBILE, AL (WKRG) - UPDATE as of 7:32 p.m. Sunday Jan. 21

Family members have identified the woman who was fatally hit on I-65 Sunday morning as 19-year old Hannah Nicole Johnson.

The woman hit by a car on I-65 southbound on Sunday morning has died, according to Mobile Police.

Police say, the 19-year old woman crossed the southbound lanes but realized she dropped something. She crossed again stopping at the median and attempted to cross a third time when she was hit by a car.

Her identity has not yet been released. 

UPDATE as of 10:15 a.m.:

MPD has confirmed that one woman was hit on I65 by a pickup truck heading south.

She was taken to a hospital, but her condition is unknown at this time.

MPD is still not sure about circumstances of crash

 

Mobile police are on the scene of a pedestrian possibly struck by a vehicle, though that has not been confirmed at this time.

Traffic is slow going on I-65 Southbound just south of the Dauphin Street overpass because of the possible accident.

A pick-up truck could be seen on the interstate with damage to its' front end.
