BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Gasoline prices across Alabama have fallen below the $2 mark. Prices at the pumps have been cut in half since reaching a record above $4 in July. AAA Alabama reports Thursday, the statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded is $1.99. The national average for regular is $2.02. The auto club's statewide survey finds midgrade is $2.08 and premium fuel cost $2.13 a gallon. The average price for gasoline is on pace to fall below $2 nationally by the end of the week. » More
