Auburn Police and other agencies responding to shots fired at Auburn Mall

Auburn Police say the shooting was not random and may have involved two people who were injured. 

A firearm was located near one of the injured individuals.

The investigation is currently ongoing by Auburn police and there is no active threat at this time.

UPDATE: 03/09/18 7:10 p.m.

Auburn police are responding to shots fired in the vicinity of the Auburn Mall.

Police are advising residents to avoid the mall at this time.

Police also say a black male suspect in his 20s with an average build wearing a white t-shirt and jeans with a stripe has been reported running southbound in the mall parking lot parallel to Opelika Road.

According to our crew on the scene, at least two people have been air-lifted to a local hospital.

UPDATE: 03/09/18 6:45 p.m.

Witnesses on the scene tell News 3, our sister station, that there was a shooting outside the mall where one person was injured and air-lifted from the scene.
