Weather Alert: Red flags not keeping people out of the water in Pensacola

PENSACOLA BEACH, Fla (WKRG) - Pensacola Beach is packed with people despite the severe weather threat. Red flags were up at Pensacola  Beach Saturday but that did not stop people from enjoying the water.

With the potential for severe weather, some people say they wanted to get a quick beach day in.

Some people told News 5 they like to watch the rough current when storms are approaching. But some Pensacola residents say the bad weather does not concern them.

"I think that I've lived here my whole life and bad weather really doesn't scare me, and like I've been out here all day and it hasn't rained, there's no hurricane, I'm happy. I love Pensacola Beach," said Taryn Bright

News 5 will continue to monitor the weather here in Northwest Florida, we'll have a live report at 6:00.
