ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) - The Escambia County (FL) Sheriff's Office is looking for an armed robber caught on camera at a Walgreens. News 5 has learned the suspect is also wanted in connection with an officer-involved shooting in Boone County, Kentucky.
Surveillance images from the Walgreens on 9 Mile Road and Pine Forest Road appear to show the man holding a gun at a counter.
Late Wednesday afternoon, the man was identified as 32-year-old David Vaughn, who has been on the run since Monday. Deputies in Kentucky say Vaughn drove off while they were trying to arrest him outside a gas station. The deputies fired at Vaughn's vehicle as he drove away.
Authorities said anyone who sees Vaughn should not approach him and should instead call 911.
According to the sheriff's office, the suspect in the Walgreen robbery walked into the store Wednesday morning, pointed a gun at a clerk and demanded pills.
News 5 spoke with a manager who said the suspect got away with opioids, but the manager did not say how much.
The sheriff's office said the suspect drove away in maroon Nissan Rouge.
