Northwest Florida stoplight shootout suspect arrested

UPDATE - On Thursday, jail records initially showed show Harris was booked on charges that included homicide. The Escambia County Sheriff's Office released new information on Friday explaining that Harris is charged with attempted murder, trafficking of cocaine, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.


ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — One of the suspects deputies were searching for in connection with a shootout at an intersection in Escambia County in January has been booked into the Escambia County Jail on a homicide charge. 

It is unknown at this time if the homicide charge is connected to the late January shooting. News 5 is looking into why he has been charged with homicide. 

The Escambia County Sheriff's Office has been searching for Jonathan James Harris since the shooting.

The shooting happened on Monday, January 22 at Fairfield Drive and W Street.
