UPDATE: Man killed after crashing stolen motorcycle near Pensacola

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly motorcycle accident near Pensacola. 

The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday when troopers say the motorcyclist was traveling on East Oakfield Road near Lucy Street. 

According to the accident report, the motorcycle was stolen. The driver, 25-year-old Markiese Thornhill of Pensacola, was traveling on East Oakfield Road when he rode over a set of railroad track and failed to negotiate the turn, according to the FHP report. 

Troopers say Thornhill then left the road and ran into a tree stump. This was when the motorcycle overturned, where Thornhill hit a tree. 

The driver was not wearing a helmet, according to the report.
