DESTIN, Fla. (WKRG) - The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation after the body of a homeless man in Destin was found in a wooded area off Highway 98 Tuesday.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies were called to a medical emergency around 12:35 Tuesday afternoon after receiving a call that a man, believed to be in his forties, had been found dead.
Deputies say there were no obvious signs of foul play.
An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the cause of death, the sheriff's office says.
Identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
