Jeff Kuss memorial vandalized days after dedication

SMYRNA, Tenn. (WKRN) - A memorial for fallen Blue Angel pilot Jeff Kuss has been vandalized days after it was dedicated.

Video shows a juvenile drawing a name on the concrete seat on a flower bed at the memorial at Lee Victory Park. Police said there is no indication that it was an act of intentional vandalism to the memorial itself.

The writing has since been cleaned up.

In a release, Police Chief Kevin Arnold said, "This memorial is very important to our community and we are going to treat it as a very valuable reminder of the sacrifice not only of Captain Jeff Kuss but all our military veterans that make up our town."

Smyrna police are working to identify the juvenile.

Cameras are set up at the memorial and officers patrol the area on a regular basis.
