Two Mobile County men charged in ID theft case, car break-in

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) - Mobile Police have arrested two men for an alleged crime spree that police say included breaking into a car, stealing credit cards and then stealing from two Bed Bath & Beyond stores.

Police arrested Brandon Gentry and Michael Bexley after officers responded to a "theft in progress" Wednesday at the Bed Bath & Beyond location at 3725 Airport Blvd, according to a release from police.

Police said the two men were also involved in a theft at the Bed Bath & Beyond in D’Iberville, Mississippi earlier in the day.

After the arrest, police said officers found ID cards and debit/credit cards that were stolen during a vehicle burglary. Police said they also found a concealed gun and drugs.

According to the Mobile Metro Jail website, Gentry is charged with identity theft, receiving stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance. Bexley is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a pistol without a permit, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
