UPDATE: Family says missing service dog found

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) - Update Thursday, January 25

According to the family the service dog has been found. They say, a woman had picked up the dog in the neighborhood after she saw it wandering. She saw a flier today and returned it.

A Mobile family needs the community's help finding their dog who went missing Wednesday afternoon.

Pearl is an 11-year-old, three pound Pomeranian and is a service dog for the Bentley's special needs daughter Savannah. The family believes the dog may have gotten out through a small hole in their fence.

"I just love her and want her to come home," said Savannah Bentley.

Savannah has gone through 56 shunt surgeries and Pearl has helped her cope.

"She took care of me when I was in the hospital and now I take care of her," said Savannah.

Pearl is a diabetic and also has heart problems. She takes medication regularly which makes it that much more important for the Bentleys to find her quickly.

"She's gonna start getting really sick and so we only have a few days before she starts getting really ill and could possibly pass away," said Angela Bentley.

The Bentleys ask if you have seen Pearl or if you picked her up that you contact them, the nearest veterinarian, or the SPCA.
