Possible flu-related death reported in Mobile County

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) - The Alabama Department of Public Health is reporting a possible flu-related death in Mobile County.

According to the latest flu data posted by the state online, 44 potential influenza-associated deaths are currently under investigation.

The health department divides the state into eight districts. Here's a breakdown of the possible flu-related deaths statewide:

  • Northern 14
  • Northeastern 10
  • West Central 3
  • Jefferson 8
  • East Central 2
  • Southwestern 4
  • Southeastern 2
  • Mobile 1

The Southwestern District includes Baldwin, Washington, Clarke, Monroe and Conecuh Counties.

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey has declared a state of emergency due to the flu outbreak.
