Family remembers life of person who drowned at Chickasabogue Park

Mobile, AL (WKRG) - Over the weekend a person died after allegedly running from police officers then drowned in frigid waters Friday afternoon in a Mobile County park. Today a member of this person’s family has come forward to share their story saying they want this person remembered beyond this bad decision.

36-year-old Bobby Crook drowned at the park running from officers according to police.  Family members say he was born Bobby Crook but went by the name "Mrscookie Crook" and was a transgender woman.  They admit she made mistakes in her life but add she was a good person who’d help anybody with anything.

"Such a wonderful person, he was sweet he was kind he was loving, he did everything for everyone, anything like if you ran out of gas, he’d be there, he’d help you, so loving so kind, like an angel," said cousin Catheryn Neese.  Crook leaves behind a teenage daughter.  The Mobile County Sheriff’s office and District Attorney’s Office are investigating this case.
