Bienville Square Revitalization

Bienville Square is already an iconic part of downtown Mobile. However, with your help, city leaders want to make it even better.

Whether it’s Mardi Gras or football season, this historic downtown park is a well known area for residents and visitors alike to eat, shop, or play. So how do you make a good thing even better?

Local business owner Liz Smith weighed in on what she would like to see added. "I think here in Bienville Square we already attract a nice family crowd but maybe some bike racks would be good down here, public WiFi if there’s not already, and some more benches for families to sit and eat in the square.”

While some think additional equipment will help, others have a different vision.

"It would be nice if it was like some places in Savannah Georgia or Orlando where they’ve really groomed theirs and it kind of becomes an attraction where each month they might have a different theme. It would be really great to see something like that down here," said life-long Mobile resident David Motes.
