Woman files lawsuit against Gulf Breeze Massage Envy

GULF BREEZE, Fla. (WKRG) -- A woman has filed a lawsuit against the Massage Envy in Gulf Breeze.

Attorney Aaron Watson says his client Amanda Pennington was touched inappropriately during a visit to Massage Envy with her husband in August.

News 5 also obtained an arrest report that says Dwayne McDonald touched the victim inappropriately during the massage. The report says neither the victim's husband or the other therapist in the room noticed the alleged assault taking place.

McDonald has been charged with one count of assault and battery and no longer works at Massage Envy. The arrest report says another woman filed a complaint against McDonald, but no charges were filed.

Watson says the franchise was negligent.

"In the massage therapy business when someone makes a complaint like that, it's a fire," Watson said. "If they would have fired him immediately, this case would not have happened."

News 5 reached out to Massage Envy in Gulf Breeze but we have yet to hear back.
