MPD arrests kidnapping suspect

UPDATE FROM MPD Curtis Bennett has been located and arrested. MPD will hold a PERP Walk before he's transported to Metro Jail. Media is asked to arrive in the back of police headquarters at 3:40PM. 



MOBILE, Alabama (WKRG) - The Mobile Police Department needs the public's help to locate 32-year-old Curtis Bennett, who kidnapped two men on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Bennett has 12 active warrants for his arrest.


At the 1300 block of North Drive, Bennett attacked one victim after breaking into his house. He used that victim to get a second victim. Bennett then made the victims contact family members for ransom. Fortunately, the victims were able to escape.

- Kidnapping 1st - two counts

- Robbery 1st - two counts

- Theft of Property 1st - two counts

- Making a Terrorist Threat - two counts

- Burglary 1st 

- Theft of Property 2nd

- Theft of Property 3rd 

- Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm
