Daphne H.S. Threat Deemed "Not Credible"

Parents of Daphne High School students will get a phone call this morning from the school principal.

She is hoping to ease concerns about a threat circulating on social media.

The threat warns students that someone would bring a gun on campus today.

The school district sent this email to parents late last night assuring them that the threat has been investigated.

"Some rumors were floating around on social media tonight [Wed. Dec. 7] with implications that there might be some sort of threat  - perhaps a firearm that would be brought to campus - Thursday, Dec. 8. Daphne Police investigators acted very swiftly to track down this rumor. They found the rumor NOT to be credible. We sent Daphne High parents an e-mail late tonight once we learned the rumor is not credible and Dr. Meredith Foster, principal, is sending a call this morning before school to all Daphne High parents to relay this message that Daphne Police confirm the rumor is not credible. Thank you for letting me update you."

In a statement to News 5, a spokesperson for the school district said Daphne Police investigators acted very swiftly to track down this rumor.

They found the rumor not to be credible.
