PERDIDO, Ala. (WKRG) - Alabama State Troopers and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office are investigating the discovery of a woman's body in the Perdido area Wednesday morning.
According to the sheriff's office, troopers responded to the report of an accident on Lottie Road Tuesday evening around 5:30 p.m. When they arrived they discovered a vehicle that had been in an accident, but there was no driver present.
After searching the area, troopers processed the car and left the area.
Early Wednesday morning, almost two miles from the scene of the accident, a homeowner discovered the body of a female under some type of shelter on their property, according to a BCSO spokesperson. The body showed some signs of injury that could be consistent with a car accident, but no obvious cause of death was visible. An autopsy to determine the cause of death will be conducted.
Troopers are continuing to investigate.
