Hunting rifles, police-issued AR-15 stolen from Fairhope officer's truck

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) - A police-issued AR-15 was among three guns stolen from a Fairhope Police officer's off-duty vehicle, the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office confirmed to News 5 on Tuesday.

Monday morning, a deputy on patrol in a neighborhood off County Road 55 near Foley spotted a Toyota Tacoma with the rear passenger window shattered.

The deputy contacted the truck's owner and learned he was a Fairhope Police officer. The officer told the deputy he locked up the truck around 10 p.m. on Sunday.

The other two guns taken from the truck were hunting rifles.
