Local 8th grader arrested, accused of threatening to "shoot up the school"

FOLEY, AL (WKRG) - Foley Police have arrested an 8th grader accused of threatening to "shoot up [his] school before the end of the school year" in Baldwin County. 

According to a release from Baldwin County Public Schools, the 8th grader from Foley Middle School is being charged with making a terroristic threat after he allegedly made the threatening comments towards his school.  

There was never any imminent danger to Foley Middle School and parents were notified by rapid notification, News 5 is told.

"Superintendent Tyler reminds everyone: ALL COMMENTS such as the one made by the Foley Middle student are taken seriously by law enforcement, the school system and by school administration," said Director of Communications Terry Wilhite in the release.
