Baldwin County adds new voting precincts

BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WKRG) - Baldwin County is growing so fast, more voting precincts have been added for this election. So, where you voted in the past may have changed.

Everything is ready for election day but preparations started months ago when 149 thousand voter information cards were sent to registered voters throughout Baldwin County telling them where they will vote.

Thirty thousand of those voters will have a new polling place.  New precincts have been added in Foley at the First Methodist Church, Gulf Shores at the Gulf Shores Cultural Center and in Fairhope at the Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church.  The polling place for the Miflin community has changed altogether to the Graham Creek Interpretative Center.

Probate Judge Tim Russell says voters in those communities need to double-check where they vote. "Every voter got a new card and on that card, it tells you where that precinct is.  We know most citizens will look at that card and everything will be fine but, people like me that have been voting in the same spot for almost 50 years, 40 to 50 years, that's a big change."
