MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - An attorney representing former Secretary of State Nancy Worley says she has been indicted by a grand jury on charges stemming from her unsuccessful campaign for re-election last year. Montgomery attorney James Anderson said he received a call from the attorney general's staff informing him that Worley had been indicted on five felony counts and five misdemeanor counts accusing her of soliciting campaign funds from employees in the secretary of state's office. He said arrangements are being made for Worley to turn herself in tomorrow (Thursday). Anderson said Worley cooperated fully with the grand jury investigation because she had nothing to hide. Chris Bence, spokesman for Attorney General Troy King, said state law prohibits prosecutors from confirming or making any comment about an indictment until after it is served on the accused.
