coyote that tried to drag a 2-year-old girl from a sandbox in a San
Bernardino County park.
A sheriff's spokeswoman says the girl's babysitter heard her
scream and saw a coyote trying to carry the child away. The
babysitter was able to pull the girl out of the animal's mouth and
the coyote ran off into the brush.
The girl was taken to a hospital where she was treated for bite
wounds and released. She later went to another hospital for a
rabies shot.
San Bernardino County Animal Control and the State Department of
Fish and Game are searching for the coyote.
In October, a coyote bit a 3-year-old girl playing in the same
area.

Did He Do It?

I think you have the wrong park. Living up here in Idaho I receive sketchy reports at best. I heard that the California Department of Fish & Game attributed the attack to black bears competing for food with the coyotes. Can you verify that claim. I searched their web site and found nothing. Possibly it was a spokesman when answering media personal questions that said it.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
