The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office says a man tried to rob the Walgreens on Navarre Parkway in Navarre, but he walked away empty handed.

According to deputies, the man walked up to the counter Saturday afternoon with a Hallmark gift bag. The clerk rang him up. When she looked down, the man had a silver semi-automatic pistol a plastic bag on the counter. He told her "put the money into the bag."

The clerk froze and called for the store manager. The man grabbed the plastic bag and took off.

The Sheriff's Office is hoping someone will recognize the man from the surveillance photos. He was last seen wearing black a white shirt with horizontal stripes, dark long pants and a ball cap
