Governor Bob Riley has started the process to
select Auburn University's next trustee.
In a letter distributed by the university Tuesday, Riley invited
people to submit nominations to the Auburn University Trustee
Selection Committee by May 2. The selection committee, headed by
Riley, will then recommend one person to the Alabama Senate for
approval.
The person chosen will replace trustee Earlon McWhorter of
Anniston, whose seven-year term ended in February. A university
spokesman said McWhorter can't be reappointed because the state
constitution prohibits the appointment of trustees older than 70.
McWhorter's replacement can live anywhere in the continental
United States.
The address for the selection committee is 105 Samford Hall,
Auburn University, AL 36849.
